DU&ICH

From 2007–2014, I was in charge of DU&ICH's art direction and graphics – a historic mission. DU&ICH was published on October 1, 1969 as the first German gay magazine, one month after homosexual acts between adult men were no longer punishable by law in the Federal Republic of Germany. Over the decades, the magazine has accompanied the gay scene and the focus of the magazine has been constantly readjusted. The most radical reorganization was undertaken in 2013. The result was a completely new magazine: a new logo and design, a new cover look, new content and a new claim. The aim of the ambitious relaunch was to get rid of all the ballast – with a contemporary look and the best legibility of the basic font.

DU&ICH was invited to the German Lead Award in 2014.
